Heading into Game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals, it’s an important match for both the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. If the Warriors win, they'll be back-to-back NBA Champions. On the other hand, tonight is a must-win situation for the Cavs because it's either win or go home.
We could break down the numbers and even chat with the pros to predict who will dominate the hardwood. But here at Style Jock, we focus on more than stats; we’re all about the fashion and we have a clever way of predicting winners. We believe when you look good, you play good; so we foresee most fashionable team in the series will win Game 5 tonight.
We’re putting gameday looks from the first four games of the NBA Finals head-to-head to see who will end up on top. It's time for tip-off!
Game 1: Battle of the Blue Hues- Shaun Livingston vs Kevin Love
Shaun Livingston had a phenomenal game and his unique casual look matched. His all-gray look was complete with blue kicks for a pop of colour.
Kevin Love came to the game rocking a blue suit by Ralph Lauren with a pair of white kicks. All together Kevin looks more polished and he looks ready to hit the runway after the game. Even though the Cavs lost the opening game of the series, there is nothing but love for this look and Kevin wins this round for the Cavs.
Game 2: Accessory 101- Andre Iguodala vs Iman Shumpert
Let's be real, when it comes to Iman Shumpert everyone isn't only talking about his skills on the court, but they're also dishing about his famous high-top fade. It's his #1 fashion accessory and for Game 2 of the NBA Finals it def had everyone talking. Walking into Oracle Arena, he opted for a somewhat down-do, perm thing for his hairstyle. And not everyone was feeling it!
With his team's stellar performance in Game 1, Andre walked into Game 2 with confidence and a killer look to match. He topped off his all-neutral colour look with a stylish wide-brim hat and Pony Hair Leopard Sneakers by Del Toro Shoes. This was a great way to accessorize and made his nude ensemble really pop. Andre and the Warriors won this game on the hardwood and def had the better fashion too.
Game 3: Classic Man- LeBron James vs Draymond Green
Draymond and LeBron have been battling on the court since last year's NBA Finals match up. Now the battle continues off the court. For Game 3, Draymond was right on-trend sporting a black baseball cap, camo bomber and cropped pants. From the waist up his outfit was pretty dope, but sorry cropped pants didn't work for D. Wade or Russell Westbrook and neither did they work for Draymond. Big 'L' here.
The series headed back to Cleveland for Game 3 and of course while at home, LeBron James came dressed to thrill. Rocking a khaki sports blazer with navy blue pants, this two-tone look was classic, making LeBron and the Cavs get the 'W' in the fashion category and on the hardwood.
Game 4: Splash of Colour- LeBron James vs Stephen Curry
Being two of the league's biggest superstars, both Steph and LeBron are always in the spotlight. That means they need to bring their A-game 24/7 no matter where they are. Here's a look at their looks from Game 4. Both looks are inspired by summer hues and bright colours, but only one look really stood out. From head-to-toe, King James' total outfit was more fashion-forward and totally polished. Come on, the man wore a bright green blazer, a pin-striped shirt and green loafers. Def beats a simple blue suit any day! LeBron may have lost Game 4 on the court, but so far in the 2016 NBA Finals the Cavs clearly are winning the fashion game.
Tonight we predict The Cleveland Cavaliers will win Game 5, making the series 3-2. And will head back to Cleveland in style.
Which team do you think has the better style?
