Russell Westbrook covers the latest issue of Adweek Magazine for their 2016 Sports Issue. Decked out in all-black, the NBA all-star looks like a true model sporting a black leather top and spinning a Jordan basketball on this finger.
In the mag, the 27-year-old dishes on his role as a spokesman, social media and his budding fashion career. Over the past five years, Russell has really emerged as a fashion superstar and the self-procliamed 'Fashion King' declares he's more than just an NBA star saying “I don’t want to be seen as just a basketball guy.” With his endorsements with Jordan brand, Mountain Dew, Westbrook Frames, his clothing collaboration with Barneys New York and many more, Westbrook is definitely known for more than just his skills on the hardwood.
His agent Thad Foucher says the Oklahoma City Thunder star has a personality and brand other companies gravitate towards, hence why he’s so successful with his business endeavours outside of basketball. Plus when working with any brand it’s more than just a payday for Westbrook, “That's my main thing before I pick any brand or any brand that's interested in me. Try to find ways to where we can either collaborate on something or find ways that we can expand and reach out to people."
